I’m looking to buy and operate a local business in Greater Philadelphia.

I’m Ryan, owner of Clearway Holdings — a family holding company. I’m not a broker or private equity firm. I’m an operator looking to step into an established company, protect your legacy, and build on the foundation you’ve created.

Who I am

I’m a local business owner in the Philadelphia area, and I’m looking for a good company here to buy and run as my own. Originally growing up in California, my career has taken me all over the country, pursuing opportunities and paths that’s led me, ultimately, to Philadelphia, the place I now call home.

Operations focused. I got my start in operations at a local healthcare clinic, where I worked my way up to manager, and soon went on to oversee a region of four facilities. I loved managing teams and solving everyday problems, from scheduling and hiring, to AR collections and meeting payroll. At age 29, I went on to become the chief operating officer of a privately held chain of rehabilitation centers for people with brain and spinal cord injuries. Over the next three years, I led the company to expand from its Florida headquarters into new centers across several states — doubling in size to more than 500 employees — resulting subsequently in a successful sale to an investment firm.

I’ve done this before. In 2022, alongside a group of investors, I moved to PA and bought a healthcare company in the Philadelphia area — a physical therapy and sleep-treatment business with more than 60 employees across four locations. I worked closely with the former owner through the sale, and after closing the deal, stepped in as CEO to run the business. I carried on the operations and worked with the existing team to grow the business and win new regional contracts with local hospitals. I have since stepped out of its day-to-day operations, but the company continues to thrive today. I know firsthand what it takes to work with a seller, get a deal across the finish line, and take good care of a business after the keys change hands.

Ownership for the long term.My experience over the past 10 years managing small medium sized businesses is exactly why I started Clearway Holdings. I’ve done this alongside investors and a board — now I’m ready to do it for myself, as the direct owner rather than as part of a fund or investment group. Through Clearway, my family holding company, I invest in cash-flowing real estate around Greater Philadelphia, and I’m searching for a business with the right characteristics, to buy, run and own, for myself — for the long term. When you work with me, you’re working directly with the buyer and the person who will actually operate the company. Clearway will always be family-owned and operated.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner Rebeccah and my parents. I stay active with CrossFit, tennis, and hiking, and some of my favorite weeks are spent on cross-country camping trips through the national parks in our RV. I’ve been fortunate to explore more than 45 countries, but I’m just as happy close to home — Rebeccah and I love catching summer concerts and festivals around Philly and cheering on our hometown teams.
